Applications of KCB Magnetic Drive Pumps
Magnetic drive pumps are suitable for the conveyance of fluids with viscosities ranging from 5 to 1,500 cSt in process applications such as petrochemicals, coatings, papermaking, and the resin industry—provided the fluids contain no solid particles or long fibers. They are particularly well suited for handling toxic and hazardous, flammable and explosive, polluting, highly volatile substances, as well as heavy oils, mechanical oils, and fuel oils.
Structural Features of the KCB Magnetic Drive Gear Pump
The external-meshing low-pressure gear train is fully sealed, leak-free, environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, and highly efficient.
It mainly consists of a pump housing, gears, shafts, magnetic drive components, and a safety valve, among others.
All rotating components within the pump are self-lubricated by the conveyed medium.
Gears undergo heat treatment to achieve high strength, hardness, and wear resistance.
The pump is equipped with a well-designed pressure-relief circuit to prevent “oil trapping” during operation.
The sliding bearing is made of suitable materials that can adequately withstand the unbalanced radial fluid pressure generated by the gears, exhibit strong resistance to contamination, meet the requirements of chemically aggressive media under lubrication-free conditions, and offer a long service life.
The system is equipped with a safety valve for overload protection; the full-return pressure of the safety valve is 1.5 times the pump’s rated pressure and can be adjusted as needed within the allowable discharge pressure range. When the discharge pressure exceeds the pump’s rated pressure, the safety valve automatically opens to prevent damage to the pump and motor caused by excessive pressure.
From the drive end, the pump rotates clockwise.

It is widely used in industrial systems across sectors such as oilfields, oil refining, petrochemicals, chemical manufacturing, fertilizer production, nuclear power, metallurgy, food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and refrigeration, for conveying flammable, explosive, toxic, hazardous, and corrosive media that contain no solid particles, as well as media for which seal contamination is unacceptable. However, it is not suitable for conveying media containing ferromagnetic substances.
