Product Overview

The copper gear pump (KCB type) is a gear pump in which the gears are made of copper. The KCB-T series of copper gear pumps, with gears manufactured from bronze, eliminate static electricity generation at the primary rotating friction pairs during operation. They are widely used for oil transfer in marine applications, oil depots, gas stations, tanker trucks, and petrochemical processes, and exhibit excellent self-priming performance.

Uses

The copper gear pump (KCB type) is suitable for conveying lubricating oils or other liquids with properties similar to lubricating oils, provided that the fluid contains no solid particles or fibers, is non-corrosive, has a temperature not exceeding 180°C, and exhibits a kinematic viscosity in the range of 5×10⁻⁶ to 1.5×10⁻³ m²/s (5–1500 cSt).

Structural Features of Copper Gear Pumps (KCB Type)

This series of gear oil pumps primarily consists of gears, shafts, a pump housing, a relief valve, and shaft-end seals. The gears undergo heat treatment to achieve high hardness and strength, and are mounted together with the shafts within replaceable bushings for operation. During pump operation, all internal components are automatically lubricated by the pumped fluid itself.

The pump is equipped with oil drain and return grooves, which help reduce the torque experienced by the gears during operation, thereby lowering bearing loads and wear.

The pump is equipped with a relief valve for overload protection; the full-return pressure of the relief valve is 1.5 times the pump’s rated discharge pressure, and it can also be adjusted as needed within the allowable discharge-pressure range. However, note that this relief valve is not intended for continuous operation as a pressure-reducing valve; if required, a separate pressure-reducing valve should be installed in the piping system.

When viewed from the pump end of the spindle extension, the rotation is clockwise.
