Stainless steel asphalt pumps are designed for conveying media that tend to thicken, solidify, or crystallize at ambient temperatures but can be kept fluid by maintaining a controlled temperature. They are suitable for handling liquids with stringent hygiene requirements or those that are corrosive, such as asphalt, paraffin wax, rosin, heavy oil, resins, and other similar fluids, provided the operating temperature does not exceed 300°C.

The pump body of the stainless steel asphalt pump is equipped with a circulating jacket and inlet and outlet ports, enabling it to use heat-transfer oil, steam, hot water, cold water, and other media to heat, maintain the temperature of, and cool the conveyed liquid and the pump itself.

The power for the stainless-steel asphalt pump is transmitted via the driving shaft and then conveyed to the driven shaft through a pair of synchronizing gears, causing the mating arc gears on the driving and driven shafts to rotate. This rotation creates a vacuum at the inlet, drawing in the liquid; as the arc gears continue to turn, they confine the liquid and propel it toward the discharge outlet. During rotation, the pump’s inlet and outlet ports alternately open. In essence, the end of each arc gear functions as an annular piston that moves within an annular cylinder; therefore, no check valve is required. This pump is a positive-displacement pump.

Stainless steel asphalt thermal insulation pumps are suitable for conveying non-corrosive media that contain no solid particles and tend to solidify at ambient temperatures. They are particularly well suited for outdoor installations in extremely cold regions and for applications in process operations where the conveyed medium requires thermal insulation. The medium temperature can reach up to 250°C, with a viscosity ranging from 5 to 1,500 cSt.

Uses

Suitable for conveying corrosive or non-corrosive liquids with stringent hygiene requirements, provided the conveyed medium contains no solid particles, the temperature does not exceed 200°C, and the viscosity is between 5 and 1,500 cSt. The pump is constructed from 304 stainless steel and is ideal for applications in industries such as chemical feedstocks, heavy oil, asphalt, adhesives, resins, pharmaceutical filling, food processing, cosmetics, agrochemicals, detergents, textile dyeing and printing, brewing, resin production, and adhesive manufacturing.

Structural Features

The pump casing is equipped with a hollow jacket and inlet and outlet flanges, enabling the use of heat-transfer oil, steam, hot water, and other media to heat, maintain the temperature of, and cool the conveyed liquid and the pump itself. The pump can be driven either directly by an electric motor or via a speed reducer; when the liquid viscosity exceeds 1500 cSt, a speed reducer drive shall be used.

Stainless steel asphalt pumps primarily consist of gears, shafts, pump housing, pump cover, bearing sleeves, and shaft-end seals. The gears are manufactured with a double-circular-arc sinusoidal tooth profile. Compared with involute gears, this design offers the significant advantage that there is no relative sliding between the tooth flanks during meshing; consequently, the gear teeth experience no wear, operation is smooth, cavitation is eliminated, noise levels are low, and service life is extended. This pump design breaks free from the constraints of traditional approaches, ushering in a new era in the design, manufacturing, and application of thermal-insulated pumps.

The pump shaft end seal is designed in two configurations: mechanical seal and packing seal, which can be selected based on the specific operating conditions and customer requirements.
