Structural Features of the NYP High-Viscosity Internal Gear Pump

(1) Working Principle

The NYP high-viscosity internal gear pump features a driving gear with internal teeth (the outer rotor) that rotates the inner rotor in the same direction within a fully sealed pump housing. A crescent-shaped partition between the pump housing and the front cover separates the suction port from the discharge port. As the gears rotate, a negative pressure is created at the suction port, drawing liquid into the pump; the rotating gears then convey the liquid to the discharge port, where it is expelled under pressure, thereby completing the fluid delivery process.

(2) Structure

The NYP high-viscosity internal gear pump primarily consists of internal and external gears, a shaft, a pump housing, a front cover, seals, and bearings. Seals are available in two types: mechanical seals and packing seals (for special requirements, a magnetically driven, zero-leakage design may be selected). For media with high temperature, high viscosity, and strong corrosivity, packing seals are recommended.

When conveying materials prone to crystallization, the front cover and pump casing can be equipped with insulated jackets through which steam is circulated during operation to maintain temperature and prevent solidification. The pump can also be fitted with a relief valve; when the pump or piping system experiences overpressure, the valve opens to establish internal recirculation, thereby safeguarding the system.

The pump unit consists of a pump, an electric motor, and a base. It is available in two drive configurations: belt-driven and directly coupled.

When viewed from the motor end toward the pump, the rotation is clockwise.
